Chronos is built with a "Privacy-First" philosophy. We believe your habits and routines are personal, and they should stay that way. This policy explains how we handle your data.
1. Data Collection & Usage
Offline by Default: Most of your data is stored locally on your device in a secure database. We do not have access to your events, logs, or notes.
Personal Data: We do not require you to create an account or provide an email address to use the core features of Chronos.
2. Optional Cloud Features
If you choose to use our Cloud Sync features, your data is handled as follows:
- Google Drive: If enabled, your data is encrypted and uploaded to your personal Google Drive account. We do not store this data on our servers.
- iCloud: For iOS users, data is synced using your personal Apple iCloud account.
3. Crash Reporting & Analytics
To improve app stability and performance, we use Google Firebase services:
- Firebase Crashlytics: If the app crashes, it sends an anonymous report containing technical details about the crash (e.g., device model, OS version, and the code path of the crash).
- Firebase Analytics: We collect anonymous usage data to understand which features are most popular. This data does not include your personal event names or log content.
4. Permissions
Chronos requests only the permissions necessary for its features:
- Notifications: To remind you of upcoming tasks.
- Alarms: To ensure precise scheduling for your reminders.
- Storage/Files: To allow you to backup your data or export logs to CSV.
